1950 – 2024

New Iberia – A Memorial Celebration for Victor Cola, Jr., 74, will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Star Pilgrim Baptist Church, 423 East Pershing St., New Iberia, LA. Pastor Donald Wright will officiate the service.

His Interment will be private at a later date.

The family can be greeted at the church on Saturday beginning at 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.

Victor was born on Saturday, September 23,1950 to the union of the late Victor Cola, Sr and Mary Jones Cola in Galveston, TX.  He grew up in the New Iberia, where he also attended school.  Following graduation, he went to work in various areas finally being a bus driver for the Iberia Parish School Board.

He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and loved the church. He was a faithful member of Star Pilgrim Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board and the Usher Board until his passing.

Victor loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was well known in the community especially as the DJ "Double Barrell Electrified Funk." He also loved to dance

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four siblings, Sylvio Cola, James Cola, Joseph Jones and Dorothy Cola Victor's life came to an unexpected end on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at his home  in New Iberia, LA.

Victor leaves to celebrate his love and life include his five children, Inga Dorsey of New Iberia, LA, Cyesha (Bryant) Hall of Houston, TX, Alfreda (Ethel) Henderson of Galveston, TX, Pearly Robinson of California and  Darius Gray of Wharton, TX; one sister, Nancy Tyler of Tyler, TX;  two sisters-in-law, Georgianna Jones of Hitchcock, TX;  and Joshlyn Cola of Galveston, TX; special companion, Carolyn Mills of Beaumont, TX; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
