St. Martinville - A private Celebration of Life with family and friends for Timmy Donald Floyd, will be held at a later date and time. Timmy's family may be contacted directly for details. He was a resident of St. Martinville, Louisiana.

Timmy Donald Floyd known to many as "Timmy D", was born on Sunday, May 7, 1950, to the late Prentiss Lee Floyd and the late Mary Bennie Welch Floyd in Jackson, Mississippi. He married his beloved Carolyn Miller Floyd in 1970. Together, they nurtured two children and created a wonderful life together.

"Timmy D" led a rich life, having served his country as an Army veteran during the Vietnam War. During his lifetime he developed numerous talents, particularly in the flooring industry, but his greatest passion was music. Proudly, he identified as a self-taught musician, relishing every chance to share his musical abilities. He often sang lead with various local bands and family get-togethers. On any given day you would find him not only singing but also playing the keyboard and his acoustic guitar. He always looked forward to any opportunity to share through song!

In addition to his parents, he is now reunited with his wife and true love of 37 years, Carolyn Miller Floyd; sister, Brenda Joyce Broussard (Harris); maternal grandparents, Timmie Welch, Sr. and Erna Mae Meadows Welch; and paternal grandparents, William Hugh Floyd and Alma Dawson Floyd.

He leaves a legacy of love to his children: Keri Lynn Floyd of Clarksville, Arkansas and Timmy Shane Floyd of St. Martinville, Louisiana; siblings: Patricia Parks of New Iberia, Louisiana, Glenn Floyd (Eva) of Mendenhall, Mississippi, and Prentiss W. "Bill" Floyd of New Iberia, Louisiana; three grandchildren: Kelsey Beckham of Raymond, Mississippi, Linda Ann Floyd and William Ryan Barber both of Clarksville, Arkansas; seven great grandchildren; and a host of extended relatives and friends.

To truly know Timmy was to love him; he had a way of making friends wherever he went and held no grudges against anyone. His selflessness shone through as he consistently prioritized others, seeking to spread joy to everyone in his presence. On Sunday, December 14, 2025, Timmy Donald Floyd made his final transition. He will always be remembered, cherished and loved due to the seeds of compassion and care that he planted in the lives he touched. He was 75 years old.
