New Iberia - A private service will be held by Mary's family at their selected date and time. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery 402 W. Admiral Doyle Dr, New Iberia, LA.

Mary Margaret Fremin, 85, passed away on August 29, 2025, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette. Mary was born July 7, 1940, in New Iberia to the late Roy J. Fremin Sr. and Margaret Martin Fremin. She graduated from New Iberia Senior High in 1958. Mary spent the majority of her time doing things she loved, including traveling, fashion, cooking, and spending time with her family and lifelong friends. She would frequently go on road trips throughout the United States, and even outside the US on occasion. Throughout her entire life she was a creative seamstress and loved to make clothing and bags for the people she held dear.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard Morein, her only child, Richelle "Ricki" Long, her grandchildren, Nicholas Flook, his wife Brandy Guillory Flook and Khalil Afaneh, her great-grandchildren Gabby Flook, Brennen Flook, and Gracie Flook, her sister, Bonnie Fremin, and her beloved friend Joanna Thibodeaux, her nephews Marty Pisani, Roger Pisani, Tony Pisani, and Kent Pisani and her niece, Sunny Desormeaux, as well as her beloved pets Gizmo, Dolly, and Watson.

She is preceded in death by her father, Roy J. Fremin Sr., her mother, Margaret Martin Fremin, her sister, Jacqueline Fremin Pisani, her brother-in-law James Pisani Jr. her brothers, Donald "Blue" Fremin and Roy "Boze" Fremin, and her nephew Robert K. White and former husband Doug Long.

Mary will be remembered by all of her family and friends who were touched by her kindness, love and laughter. May she rest peacefully for she has been an uplifting influence on us all.
