Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mary Francis, 65 on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St Anthony Catholic Church, 600 Madeline Ave, Lafayette, LA with Fr. Richard Andrus, SVD, celebrant.

Visitation will be begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St Anthony Catholic Church. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM.

Mary Alice Francis was a native of Lafayette, LA and a resident of Baytown, TX.

Mary Alice Francis was born on Sunday, August 21, 1960, to the late Claude Morrison and Agnes Carter Morrison in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was raised and educated in Lafayette Parish. As a child, she was christened and made her confirmation at St. Anthony Catholic Church and remained devoted in her faith until her final days. Praying the rosary daily, often brought her comfort.

Professionally Mary worked various occupations where she was able to find unique ways to give to others including caring for children in her own home. This was all done with a spirit of excellence at all times. She remained in the community of Lafayette, LA until 2018 when she moved to Baytown, Texas to be closer to family. She was well known throughout her community and was known for helping anyone whenever she could; always happy and never complaining about much of anything. Family was most dear to her and the manner in which she spoiled her grandchildren is the proof! Her overwhelming love for her family and the people whom she held dear was always evident.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alton and Rose Carter; granddaughter, Ja'Laya Francis and best friend, Wilma Goodwin.

Mary leaves her most precious memories and legacy of love to her four children: Clauderick Francis (Desiree), Quinette Francis, Demarcus Morrison (Tamika), all of Baytown, TX, and Jamar Francis of Houston, TX; Siblings: Rose "Ann" Lawrence (Millie) of Lafayette, LA, Paul "Kippy" Carter (Regina) and Gerard "Boo" Morrison (Joyce) both of Atlanta, GA, one godchild, Quinton Lewrence; one child whom she raised as her own, Mercedes Duhon; eight grandchildren: Braylon Francis, Jayce Francis, Demarea Coleman, Denavian Lambert, Stylez Francis, Timothy "Ky" Fuselier, Aniya Fuselier and Jaylee Francis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mary Alice Francis finished her earthly journey on Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Baytown, Texas. She won the victory over all ailments and is now taking her well-earned rest. She will be forever remembered and forever loved by all those who knew her!
