Joseph  "Bozo"Henry

New Iberia – A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mr. Jospeh "Bozo" Henry, 92, will be held on Saturday, December 7,, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Davis Family Mortuary, 802 Weldon St., New Iberia, LA. Pastor Geroy Scott will officiate the service

He was entombed with his wife at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Mr. Joseph "Bozo" Henry, was born December 2, 1931 to the union of the late  to Erba and Gurdie Kissack Henry in New Iberia, Louisiana. He passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024. He a devout member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mr. Henry graduated from Jonas Henderson High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after serving in the Korean War. Upon returning home, Mr. Henry relocated to Tuskegee, Alabama, to study  Engineering at Tuskegee Institute. While in Alabama, he met and married Charlie Mae Gosha Henry. Their union formed a blended family who included, Reasie Henry, Willie B. Gosha, Margaret M. Gosha Washington, Betty Gosha Davidson, Henry Gosha , Paulette Gosha Long, Cynthia Gosha Walker, Jannette M. Gosha.

For 20 years, Mr. Henry was employed by Iberia Parish Hospital in Central Supply.  He later joined his bothers at Iberia Sugar Corporation as an engineer, and then went on to work at St. Mary Sugar Crop as an engineer until he retired.

Joseph awaiting the resurrection, now joins his wife awaiting, Charlie Mae Gosha Henry, daughter, Reasie Henry; sons, Willie B. Gosha and Henry Gosha; parents, Erba and Gurdie Henry; his siblings, Herbert Henry, Charles Henry, Willie Henry, Alton Henry, Hazel Green, Shirley Decuir, Dorothy Smothers, and  Evelyn Edison; paternal grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Kissack, and Joseph Hector and Lorina Henry; grandchildren Raymond A. Nelson, Harold Gosha, Tylynn Washington, Tiwanna Washington, Jenessa Wells Walker, Jesse Gosha, Larry Gosha, and Essence Washington.

"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.  The former things have passed away."   Revelation 21:4
