New Iberia – Memorial Services for Gregory Paul Wesley, 53, will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Davis Family Mortuary Chapel, 802 Weldon St, New Iberia, LA.

"A Time To Be Born".…Gregory, affectionately known as "Hoover" was born on Tuesday, May 16, 1972 , in New Iberia, LA. He was the third child born the union of the late Charles and Shirley Horton Wesley.  He was a lifelong resident of Four Corners, LA. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Aaron Marks, pastor of St. John Baptist Church in Four Corners, LA. He later united with New Jerusalem Ministry of New Iberia, LA under the leadership of Pastor Tracey and Maria St. Julien. He graduated from Adult Education in Franklin, LA. He went on to attend Sowela Technical College in Lake Charles, LA, where he obtained his Welding Certificate. He was married to Nakia Preston-Wesley.

"A Time To Die….Gregory departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2025 in Baton Rouge, LA, after a battling medical challenges.

"A Time To Mourn…Gregory was preceded in death in addition to his parents his paternal grandparents, Pastor Marshall  and Ella Wesley; his maternal grandparents, Edison and Ethelren  Matthews Colbert; and a sister, Cynthia Faye Wesley.

"A Time To Weep"….Gregory leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Nakia Wesley of Jeanerette, LA; one daughter, Kalere Wesley of Atlanta, GA and her mother, Evelyn Hawkins, of Franklin, LA; a sister and her sons,, Patricia Wesley, Lorenzo Williams and Brandon Williams, all of Four Corners, LA; a brother, Roman Wesley, Sr. and his children, Roman Wesley, Jr., both of Puerto Rico, LA, Tayla Marks and great-nephew, Casey Perrymon, both of Mesquite, TX, Kaira Wesley of Raleigh, NY> Jaida Wesley of Delmar, NY and Kaylee Wesley of Hurst, TX; three aunts, Berniece (Charles) Gallien of Lake Charles, LA, Mary (Clyde) George of Cade, LA and Jeanette Damon of Four Corners, LA; our bonus children, Brian Charles of Franklin, LA, Kenya Yeggins of New Iberia, LA, Jeffery Preston of Houston, TX and Kennedy Navy of Jeanerette, LA; three bonus grandchildren, and a host relatives and friends.
