Remembering Georgiana Anna August

New Iberia – A Memorial Celebration for Georgia Anna August, 80 will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, - 11:00 AM at Faith Cathedral World Outreach Center, 4416 Hwy 14, New Iberia, LA. Bishop Drew Rouse, pastor.

The family can be greeted beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday at the church until time of services.

Georgia was born on Thursday, April 6, 1944 to the late James and Anna Reed August in New Iberia, LA. She received her formal education in the schools of Iberia Parish and was a graduate of Willow Street High School, Class of 1962. She went on to attend college and after two years she enlisted in the United Stated Armed Forces, Navy branch.

Her christian journey began at Believer's Family Worship Center, where she attended for many years.  She later became a member of Faith Cathedral where she remained until her passing. She loved family and was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Gerald August; a granddaughter, Tierra Dugar; a nephew, Gerrod August and her grandparents, Fred and Georgia Hill Reed and Jimmy and Maggie Metz Harris. After a life of faithfulness to the Lord Jesus Christ, He himself chose to transition her from labor to reward on Saturday, January 12, 2025 in Broussard, LA with her sons at her side.

Georgia's love, life and legacy will always be cherished by her two sons. Gregory (April) Davison of Baton Rouge, LA and Grant (Natalie) August, Sr. of Jeanerette, LA, a sister, Geneva Robertson of Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Andrew Davison and Calum Wallace, both of Baton Rouge, LA, Grant August, Jr. of New Iberia, LA, Cameron Dugar, Paul Dugar, Marquis Garret,  and Juttyler August, all of Jeanerette, LA; as well as her nieces, nephews other relative and friends who are all comforted by the of Word of God ,"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15. Please remember this family in your prayers.
