REMEMBERING FELTON CLAY, JR.

New Iberia – Memorial Services for Felton Clay, Jr., 80, will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Family Mortuary, 802 Weldon St., New Iberia, LA. Pastor Zack Mitchell, Sr. will officiate the service.

The family can be greeted beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Felton was born on September 8, 1944 to the union of the late Felton Clay Sr. and Louise Wagner Clay in Jeanerette, LA.  He married Susan Clay and they were blessed with two sons. He was a long time resident of New Orleans, LA, where he worked for many years and retired from Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans.  He returned home after Hurricane Katrina, during which time he would attend Mt. Olive Baptist Church #2 here in New Iberia, LA.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Russell Clay and his grandparents, Joseph Clay, Sr., Diriska Clay, Wilton Wagner and Mary Wagner. Felton passed away suddenly at his residence here in New Iberia, LA.

Felton leaves precious memories with his two sons, Kevin (Rhesa) Clay of New Orleans, La and Christopher (Jessie) Clay of Houston, TX; their mother, Susan Clay of New Orleans, LA; three sisters, Mary Louise Clay and Rena Clay, both of New Iberia, LA and Josie Mitchell (Zack Mitchell Sr.), of Coteau, LA; four nephews, Jusef Clay, Zack (Kristin) Mitchell Jr., Joseph (Kelly) Mitchell, and Joshua (Hannah) Mitchell; one niece, Zakea Mitchell,  and many other relatives and friends.
