Elnora Robinson Colbert

Four Corners – A Celebration of Life for Elnora Robinson Colbert, 85, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. John Baptist Church, 1244 Big Four Corners Road, Jeanerette (Four Corners), LA Dr. Davis Jones Pastor. Minister Joseph Wells will officiate the service.

She will be laid to rest in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and conclude at the time of service on Tuesday at the church.

"To everything there is a season" a time for every purpose under the heaven, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted." Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Elnora Robinson Colbert, born on Sunday, March 10, 1940, the fifth child born to the union of the late Charley and Leona Bourgeois Robinson in Millard (Four Corners), LA. She attained her education in St. Mary Parish Schools. on May 18, 1963, she married the love of her life, the late Darrell Colbert, Sr. and they were blessed with five children. She was employed as a seamstress at Jeanerette Mills for eleven years

Sister Elnora was baptized at an early age at St. John Baptist Church under the pastorship of the late Rev. Aaron Marks, Sr. As a member of St. John, she served faithfully as a member of the pastor's aide ministry and the cooking committee, where she was known as the potato salad, candy and tea cake lady. She was also known as the upbeat lady, who had an infectious smile, who enjoyed family gatherings and cruises.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marla Colbert; four siblings, Henry Robinson, Joseph Bourgeois, Alberta Harris and Lena Calhoun; a godson, Ray Wiley, Jr.; and her father and mother-in-law, Albert, Sr. and Clara Colbert. On Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 1:30 pm, Elnora heard the voice of Jesus say come on home my child, your work on earth is done. So surrounded by her family, she took the hands of his angels and transitioned to eternity in Jeanerette, LA.

Elnora's memory will always embrace the hearts of her loving family who include her, four children, Ronald (Pearle) Colbert of Four Corners, LA, Darrell (Keisha) Colbert, Jr. of Jeanerette, LA, Kevin Colbert of Baton Rouge, LA and Darlene (Neal) Alexander of Franklin, LA; three sisters, Josephine Robinson of San Francisco, CA, Shirley Feast of Jeanerette, LA, and Leona Wiley-Jackson of Four Corners, LA; twelve grandchildren, Derrick Colbert, Dedrick Colbert, Jeffery Crosby, Justin Crosby,  Michael Colbert, Michelle Colbert, Haillie Colbert, Harley Colbert, Brittany Colbert, Kiera Lewis, Keiland Lewis,  and Kyra Lewis; thirteen great-grandchildren; her five in-laws, Leonard Colbert, Louise Williams and Lou Ada Washington, all of Jeanerette, LA, and Gloria Washington and Amelia Colbert, both of New Orleans, LA; one godchild, Steve Calhoun of Baton Rouge, LA and a host of other relatives and friends who realize that "earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal."
