Remembering Elnora Frelow Jack

New Iberia – A Celebration of Life for Elnora Frelow Jack, 76, will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. James United Methodist Church,  549 East St. Peter Street, New Iberia, LA. Pastor Wilfred Edwards, Jr. will officiate the service.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM and conclude at the time of service on Wednesday at the church.

She will be laid to rest in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette, LA.

Elnora Frelow Jack was born on Monday, October 25, 1948 in Lafayette, LA. to the union of the late Leroy Frelow and Lonnie Thodile Frelow. She was reared in a Christian home in the Olivier Community

She attained her primary and secondary education in the schools of Iberia Parish and was a graduate of Jonas Henderson High School class of 1966. She went on to attend Dillard University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Adminstration and The University of Southwest Louisiana (now UL) where she received her Master's degree in Education.  Elnora worked as an educator for the St. Mary Parish School system, where she retired after 35 plus years.

Realizing the importance of a relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ, she served faithfully at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Olivier, LA where she held many office positions until the time of its closure. After it's closing, she united with St. James United Methodist Church in New Iberia under the current pastoral ship of Rev. Wilfred Edwards where she served as the administrative chairperson under the leadership of Rev. James Haynes.

She was very active in several social and civic organizations which  include Leah Court #24 Heroines of Jericho, Past Most Ancient Matron and Chaplin, AA Williams Court # 4 Order of the Cyrenes where she received Past Royal Comandress Degree,   Grand Office of Pelican Grand Court Order of the Cyrene PHA where she served as assistant district deputy of district 2, Alfreda D Brumfield  Phyllies Chapter where she served as treasurer, Queen Esther Chapter #10 Order of Eastern Stars were she served as recording Secretary, Izella G. Bell Court #8 Order of the Amaranth. Where she served in several positions. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Frelow, her paternal grandparents, Charley and Agnes Frelow and Mary Sam Frelow; her maternal grandparents, Walter Thodile and Pearly Edmonds and two nephews, Dexter Frelow and Robert Frelow, Jr.

Elnora's life, love and legacy will always be embraced and cherished by her daughter, LaDonise (Sedrick) Cole, of Richmond, TX; two grandchildren, Cameron (Jade) Frelow of Houston TX, and Sedrick Cole II, of Richmond, TX; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Frelow and Kai Frelow, both of Houston, TX; Two brothers, Larry (Evelyn) Frelow Sr. of Landover Maryland;  Robert Frelow of New Iberia, Three sisters, Betty Frelow of New Iberia, LA; Rosemary Perry of Houston, TX; Bernadette Survine of Katy, TX.  along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
