St. Martinville, LA – In humble submission to the will of God, the Narcisse family announces the heavenly transition of Mr. Clifton John Narcisse, Sr., who entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the blessed age of 84.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 201 Gary St., St. Martinville, LA, as the family will gather in faith to commend Mr. Clifton Narcisse's soul to God's eternal embrace. Fr. Abelardo Gabriel will serve as celebrant and officiant.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church, where a holy rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM, lifting petitions to the Blessed Mother for comfort and peace. Visitation will resume immediately following the rosary and continue prayerfully until the hour of Mass.

Interment will follow at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, 600 E. Bridge St., St. Martinville, LA.

Clifton John Narcisse, Sr. transitioned to glory at 7:53 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2026. On this day, Cliff as he was affectionately known, stepped out of his earthly vessel and stepped into his immortal glorified body. His shepherd led him to greener pastures paved with streets of gold.

Cliff was a loving husband and very supportive grandfather and great-grandfather. He accepted Jesus at an early age. He enjoyed mechanic work, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed cooking and every Friday was seafood.

Clifton was an entrepreneur an the 1st African-American to have a gas station and grocery store in St. Martinville in the 1970's. He also worked at J.B. Talley and Morton Salt Mine.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Vernice Mitchell Narcisse, siblings, James Narcisse and Theresa Narcisse, grandson, Lucas Narcisse and in-laws, Junius and Julia Knatt Mitchell,

He leaves to mourn sweet memories, two daughters: Lorie (Anthony) Bob of St. Martinville, LA and Tabatha (Mutinta Sr.) Muchimba of Colony, TX; three sons: Clifton Narcisse, Jr., Arnold Narcisse and Lucas Narcisse, all of St. Martinville, LA; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; bonus daughters: Rokella Roberts and Jena Davis; brothers: Junius Narcisse and Russel Narcisse of St. Martinville, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

May the Narcisse family feel the nearness of God's peace in the days ahead. As you walk through this season of sorrow, may His comforting presence surround you, strengthen you, and gently lift your hearts. Your loved one now rests in the eternal light of Christ, and may that promise bring you tender consolation and abiding hope.
