New Iberia - Funeral services for Chris Anthony Rue, Jr. also known as "Busta", 26, will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Star Pilgrim Baptist Church, 423 E Pershing St, New Iberia, Louisiana, with Pastor Donald Wright officiating.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM at Star Pilgrim Baptist Church and conclude at the time of service.

Chris Anthony Rue, Jr. was born on Monday, February 21, 2000, in Lafayette, La to Chris Rue, Sr. and Alicia Francisco Robertson. In life he faced many challenges, but his overcoming spirit helped motivate him to keep striving for more.

"Busta" as he was most often known, loved to work and had a strong drive about himself. He was employed in various positions including his most recent position at First Solar Louisiana. In his free time, he enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with those he cared about. He was known for being goofy, always making people laugh, and boy was he a storyteller! Being a father was his most important role. His two children meant the world to him, and he would do anything to make them happy.

Chris is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Helen Guy Rue; paternal grandfather, Milton Butler; Ulysses Lumpkin, aunt, Jennifer Francisco; and uncle, Charles Francisco.

Busta's love and memory will always be remembered by his mother, Alicia Francisco Robertson; his father, Chris Rue, Sr. (Ebony); his two children, Cason Jones and Kenzeilgh Jones and their mother who was also Chris' long-time companion, Kristen Jones; sisters: Christiana Rue and Erin Johnson (Deandre); brother, Kendrick Malveaux, step-siblings: Jamone Alexis, Jamashia Barideaux, Ja'Quan Barideaux, and Ja'queloun Alexis, maternal grandmother, Delores Sam; paternal grandmother, Shirley Rue Butler; one niece and three nephews whom he was extremely proud of and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins extended family and friends.

At the age of 26, Chris' earthly journey came to its completion on Monday, March 30, 2026, in New Iberia, Louisiana. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
