CHARLES JAMES "HULK" MCGEE

New Iberia – Services for Charles James McGee, 61, on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Davis Family Mortuary, 802 Weldon St., New Iberia, LA. Pastor Trent Davis will officiate the service. Interment will be private.

The family can be greeted at 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Charles was born on Thursday, April 11, 1963 to the late Lena Robinson and Joseph McGee in Lafayette, LA. He grew up  in Baldwin, LA and attended the schools of St. Mary Parish and also Special Providence Baptist Church.

"Hulk" as he was affectionately known was an all-around guy. He loved crabbing and fishing  but most of all dominos. He was the "jack of all trades" and master of none. He had so many talents he could be on "Angi's list.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Leona Robinson. Charles peacefully passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 in his home in New Iberia, LA.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory two sons,  Derwin Lightfoot of Lafayette, LA and Charles Eaglin of Jeanerette, LA; three siblings, Cynthia Robinson  and Joseph (Mary) McGee, Jr, both of Jeanerette, LA and Steven Calhoun of Baton Rouge, LA; five grandchildren; his aunts, uncles other relatives and friends who will miss him.
