Funeral services for Aaron Bryce Dartest, 32, will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Progressive Baptist Church, 2001 E Simcoe St, Lafayette, LA. Aaron made his final transition on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM at Progressive Baptist Church and conclude at the time of service.

Aaron Bryce Dartest, 32, departed this life on May 5, 2026, at his residence in New Iberia, Louisiana. Aaron was born on August 10, 1993, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to the late Cynthia Reaux Dartest and Willie Dartest. From an early age, Aaron brought joy and happiness to everyone around him with his bright smile, loving spirit, and outgoing personality. He graduated from Abbeville High School with the Class of 2015, where he proudly served as the school mascot for many years. Aaron loved being involved in school activities and took great pride in encouraging others and bringing excitement to those around him. Whether at school, church, or family gatherings, Aaron's presence could always be felt because of the happiness and enthusiasm he shared so freely with others.

Aaron loved the Lord and often referred to himself as a "Mighty Man of Valor." He never met a stranger and had a special gift for making everyone feel loved and welcomed. Aaron's joyful spirit and kind heart touched all who knew him. He was known for boldly expressing his faith and would often lay hands on those around him and pray for them right on the spot, offering words of encouragement, comfort, and love. Though he was born with Down (Ups) Syndrome, Aaron never allowed it to define his life. Instead, he defined himself through love, kindness, faith, and unwavering joy.

Aaron found happiness in the simple things that made life special. He loved dancing, spending time with those he loved, and enjoying his favorite meals of hamburgers, fries, and sprite no ice. His vibrant personality and unconditional love were a blessing to his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. Aaron's life was a beautiful example of compassion, faith, and joy.

Aaron leaves to cherish his memory his father, Willie (Judy) Dartest of New Iberia, Louisiana; his sisters, Markeisha Green of New Iberia, Louisiana, Jocelyn Dartest of Jennings, Louisiana, and Courtney Dartest of Lafayette, Louisiana; one nephew, Justin Viltz of Lafayette, Louisiana; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Reaux Dartest; maternal grandparents, Emma Barideaux Shaw, Robert Shaw, and Abraham Reaux; paternal grandparents, Loumas Dartest and Irene Chavis Dartest; aunts, Marilyn Dartest and Margaret Lee; uncle, Donald Dartest; sister, Melanie Dartest; and cousins, Robert Durham, Jr., and Taylor Reaux.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the caring professionals at Davis Family Mortuary, 802 Weldon Street, New Iberia, LA.
